Printing at Providence

While at Providence, you will find two printers available on your iPad when you attempt to print, both of which are located in the library.  You will need the PaperCut app and be logged in prior to attempting to print, or your job will never reach the queue.  After printing, your job must be released by the Library Media Specialist and you will be charged $0.10 per page for B&W, and $0.25 per page for color prints.

Printing at Home

Some printers support AirPrint, which allow direct printing from an iPad.  The following link has information about AirPrint, as well as what printer support AirPrint.

Some manufactures have an app to enable printing on their printers that do not support AirPrint.

HP ePrint:

Lexmark LexPrint:

Canon Print Injet:

Epson iPrint:

Samsung Mobile Print:

Brother iPrint&Scan:

If the app does not work, or there is no manufacturer app for your printer, there is an app available in the App Store called PrintCentral Pro that allows printing to any printer via a Windows or Mac PC.  It cost $7.99; far less than buying an AirPrint capable printer.

Google Cloud Print

Another option for printing from the iPad is Google Cloud Print.  While only useful for printing web-based content, it does not require any paid software.  You must use Google Chrome web browsers on a PC with a printer, and be logged into a Google Account.  You must also use Chrome for iOS on the iPad, and be logged into the same account.  Cloud Print is also available via the PrintCentral Pro app described above.

More information on Google Cloud Print can be found here.
